1. Commit to biblical .

⁵ This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5, ESV)

If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
(John 8:31-32, ESV)

2. Commit to biblical .

³ And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him… (1 John 2:3-4, ESV)

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22, ESV)

3. Commit to biblical .

⁹ Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. ¹⁰ Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. (1 John 2:9-10, ESV)

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. (1 John 5:2, ESV)

4. Commit to biblical .

¹⁵ Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. ¹⁷ And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15-17, ESV)

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. (2 Corinthians 5:10, ESV)

5. Commit to biblical .

¹⁶ By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. ¹⁷ But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. (1 John 3:16-18, ESV)

You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.
(2 Corinthians 9:11, ESV)

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. (Proverbs 19:17, ESV).

6. Recognize the of God above everything and orient your entire life around .

²¹ Little children, keep yourselves from idols. (1 John 5:21, ESV)

¹ O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
    my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
    as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
² So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
    beholding your power and glory.
³ Because your steadfast love is better than life,
    my lips will praise you.
⁴ So I will bless you as long as I live;
    in your name I will lift up my hands. (Psalm 63:1-4, ESV)
