Based on the book of Hebrews (ESV)

“I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation,
for I have written to you briefly.”
(Hebrews 13:22, ESV)

Because of Jesus is and Jesus has done, . . .

  • Jesus is the of God. (1:1-4)
  • Jesus is our great .

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of
God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to
sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. (4:14-15)

  • Jesus offered “once for all” as a sacrifice for our sins, securing our “eternal redemption.” (9:12)

We are exhorted . . .

1.Pay attention; don’t .

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. (2:1)

2. Don’t let your become .

But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (3:13)

3. Strive for spiritual .

Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. (6:1-3)

4. .

19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (10:19-25)

5. .

6. diligently and purposefully about how to challenge and motivate

7. Keep on together and one another.
