A generation goes, and a generation comes,
but the earth remains forever.
(Ecclesiastes 1:4, ESV)

Which Generation Are You?

1. (before 1928; 94 or older)
2. (1928-1945; age 76-93)
3. (1946-1964; age 57-75)
4. (1965-1980; age 41-56)
5. (1981-1996; age 25-40)
6. (1997-2012: age 9-24)
7. (after 2012; 8 or younger)

1. God is over all generations.

¹¹  My days are like an evening shadow;
     I wither away like grass.

¹²  But you, O Lord, are enthroned forever;
     you are remembered throughout all generations.
     (Psalm 102:11-12, ESV)

¹⁰  The Lord will reign forever,
     your God, O Zion, to all generations.
        Praise the Lord! (Psalm 146:10, ESV) 

2. God’s plans and for his people will be accomplished in every generation.

But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
   the purposes of his heart through all generations.
      (Psalm 33:11, NIV84)

²⁰ Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, ²¹ to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21, ESV)

3. God is good and will be to his people in every generation.

5  For the Lord is good;
      his steadfast love endures forever,
      and his faithfulness to all generations.
      (Psalm 100:5, ESV)

4. God intends for every generation of his people to him.

¹³  But we your people, the sheep of your pasture,
        will give thanks to you forever;
        from generation to generation we will recount your praise. (Psalm 79:13, ESV)

5. Every generation is responsible to the generation about the Lord.

¹⁷  O God, from my youth you have taught me,
        and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.
¹⁸  So even to old age and gray hairs,
        O God, do not forsake me,
   until I proclaim your might to another generation,
        your power to all those to come.
        (Psalm 71:17-18, ESV)

⁴   We will not hide them from their children,
         but tell to the coming generation
     the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
        and the wonders that he has done.
⁵  He established a testimony in Jacob
      and appointed a law in Israel,
   which he commanded our fathers
      to teach to their children,
⁶  that the next generation might know them,
      the children yet unborn,
      and arise and tell them to their children,
⁷  so that they should set their hope in God
      and not forget the works of God,
      but keep his commandments;
      (Psalm 78:4-7, ESV)

⁴  One generation shall commend your works to another,
      and shall declare your mighty acts. (Psalm 145:4, ESV)
