A generation goes, and a generation comes, but the earth remains forever. (Ecclesiastes 1:4, ESV) Which Generation Are You? (before 1928; 94 or older) (1928-1945; age 76-93) (1946-1964; age 57-75) (1965-1980; age 41-56) (1981-1996; age 25-40) (1997-2012: age 9-24) (after 2012; 8 or younger) God is over all generations. 11 My days are like an evening shadow; I wither away like grass. 12 But you, O Lord, are enthroned forever; you are remembered throughout all generations. (Psalm 102:11-12, ESV) 10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! (Psalm 146:10, ESV) God’s plans and for his people will be accomplished in every generation. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. (Psalm 33:11, NIV84) 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21, ESV) God is good and will be to his people in every generation. 5 For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. (Psalm 100:5, ESV) God intends for every generation of his people to him. 13 But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise. (Psalm 79:13, ESV) Every generation is responsible to the generation about the Lord. 17 O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. 18 So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. (Psalm 71:17-18, ESV) 4 We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. 5 He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, 6 that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, 7 so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; (Psalm 78:4-7, ESV) 4 One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. (Psalm 145:4, ESV) At Ingleside, we are a multi-generational church, with a next-generation orientation.
