Based on Romans (ESV)

1. The gospel is .

(1) It’s the gospel of .
Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, (1:1)

(2) It’s the gospel of Jesus Christ, God’s .
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, (1:9)

(3) It’s news we , not something we .
So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. (1:15)

(4) It’s news we should not be of.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. (1:16)

(5) It’s news that brings to all who .

(6) It’s news that reveals that being right with God is by from first to last.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” (1:17)

2. The reason we need the gospel is because on our own . . .

(1) of us are right with God; and
For we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under sin, 10 as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; (3:9-10)

(2) None of us can regain right standing with God by our own or attempts to obey God’s law.
For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, (3:20)

21 But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified [declared not guilty and right with God] by his grace as a gift, through the redemption [the ransom paid to secure our release] in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation [a sacrifice that turns God’s wrath to favor] by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (3:21-26).

3. We are declared right with God the very instant that we in Jesus Christ.
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (5:1)

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (8:1)
